Upgrade to XP Pro after SP2 update problem

I have XP Home and recently updated to SP2. I have the XP
Pro upgrade disk and have been wanting to update to Pro. I
tried today and since it is an older version (pre SP2) it
requires boot and install from CD which is not actually an
upgrade and so I need a key, but upgrade disk did not come
with a key.

Please suggest solutions.
 
The XP Pro upgrade disk must have come with a CD Key. The Home CD Key is
not the same as the Pro keys.

If the Upgrade CD didn't come with a product key, you were
cheated when you bought it. If you have the CD alone, it's
valueless. Where did you get it?
