upgrade to windows xp operating system/

i have a windows 98 second edition operating system on my
pc.-purchased this from gateway-and windows 1998 second
edition was preinstalled by gateway.

can i upgrade this direct to the xp operating system
without problems?

Hello

Yes you can but make sure that all your device and external
device will support the new OS, also you will need to make sure
that oldfer programs will support XP. Some good ADVICE
back up your important data.

Run the Upgrade Advisor program from the XP CD before doing the
upgrade as this will highlight any potential problems first.

See 'Check System Compatibility' from the Setup menu.
