upgrade office

I just purchased a new laptop/dell which came with
microsoft office 2003 small business edition, i have
purchased the access 2003 upgrade program to install and
it keeps telling me it cant find office program to use to
upgrade? help!

Your not upgrading. The upgrades are only good if you are upgrading from a
previous version. Example office XP, Office 2000, or office 97. The
install is looking for the previous version of Access on your computer. It
will not install without it.
 
even if i have office 2003 installed? bummer:O( do i have
to buy the full version instead? i do have the old office
2000, should i install it then use the upgrade-if so what
about the 2003 version, will it still work? thanx for
your help-judi
 
That I don't know. I know having multiple versions of office on a computer
tend to lead to nightmares. If your 2000 install will let you only install
access though that might work.

Remove Office 2003. Install Office 2000.
Upgrade Access. Then install Office 2003 over Office 2000.
That might work.
