help ?
i have a dell dimension 8100
768Mb Ram
80Gb Hard Drive
CD-RW
DVD-RW

i thought i would upgrade my win2k pro to XP pro. big
mistake from what ive seen so far. XP tries to install
but get to 34 minutes left of "Installing devices" and
then give you a fast ( and i mean FAST) blue screen
telling you whats wrong.... too fast to read really, and
then reboots and tries to keep setting up. i HAVE been
able to read "DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING" and
that is VERY little of a full screen of text. does anyone
know what i did wrong ????

thanx
Kel

Kel, why don't you just format and start fresh. As long as you still have
the Win2kPro CD you can use the WinXP upgrade CD to do a clean install.
Strip down your system to the bare essentials. Disconnect the DVD-RW drive
and any Peripherals
