I am considering upgrading my system from Win98SE to XP, but I do not like
the layout of XP. Can XP be configured to look and feel like Win98SE? Thanks
JP

Yes it can....easily.

In XP: Right Click on Start button --> Properties

Then select classic start menu.

You can also play with themes to get the calssic Win98 look, if you're THAT
nostalgic.

Hi,

Yep, undo all the eye candy, set it to use the classic style and you have a
Win98 look and WinXP capabilities. I avoid the use of the term "stable", as
I always found Win98 to be very stable and so far have found WinXP to be so
as well.

Thanks for the replies. Being nostalgic is not one of the reasons for my
question. Having to learn to use a new operating system is not fun for me.
Learning to use XP while looking at a screen that looks familiar should be
easier. Thanks JP

Effectively yes. There are settings in Display; in System (Visual
Effects) ; and in the properties of the Start Menu to use 'Classic
Style'.
