The symptoms said: When you start your computer, you may
see a blank screen with a white dot in the upper-left
corner of the screen.
THe problem I have I do not see the white dot. It is a
black screen with no dot. Do you think it is the same
problem? Also how do I know if I have the Accelerated
Graphic Port (AGP) video adapter? When I open up the
computer will it say AGP card? Thanks,

AGP is a different sized slot but it is not identified per se, you need to
know what youre looking for. Your machine information from the OEM might
have that information as well. As for the black screen, make sure that you
have an updated BIOS for the motherboard.

How do I update the BIOS on the motherboard? Thanks for
all your help. I just want to get this thing to work.

To update the bios is not recommended and u do it at your
own risk. Go to the maufacturers website if u have an asus
board go to asus and so on and so forth you will see
instructions on updating bios they will have the file for
you to download and the tools needed to upgrade the bios
(**** CAUTION READ TFM (the fabulous manual)before you
proceed******)

Thats correct, if you arent familiar with using or updating your BIOS,
consult with your mfr before doing so.
