1. Yes you can. I tried to explain that in my first post. ;-)
2. Not recommended for two reasons:
a. You're unable to due to an error;
b. Saving your file system is not worth the risk involved with upgrades.
Hope you take my advice Tom. I've always worked that way, and
I've been problem free for years.
