Upgrade a Win 98OEM Version to XP?

Can I use the Win XP Pro Upgrade on Win 98SE OEM Version
which came with my Dell Computer?
Can I use the Upgrade version of XP to do a clean install?

Yes. I've done a WinXP Pro upgrade from Dell's
OEM Win98.
Can I use the Upgrade version of XP to do a clean install?

Yes. Just pay attention and read the entries in the dialog
box. You can either re-format, wiping out everything,
or you can install keeping the existing files inplace,
or you can install keeping the existing apps installed.
The upgrade version is virtually the same as the total version.
The upgrade version just verifies that there is a Microsoft
OS in place before it proceeds. OEM versions qualify.
