I have a linux machine that has full access to internet and my 2 genuine
windows machins are partially connected. Windows machines cant connect to the
Windows Update site to get the latest updates. (my isp blocks this) Is there
any way to download all the updates on my linux and then FTP them to windows?
It's either that or wait untill sp3 releases. any help will be appreciated.

Why on earth would your ISP be blocking access to the Windows Update
site?

Can your Linux box access
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Browse.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=7

You should be able to find the downloads there.

Good luck

HOW TO Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog

Hi Stunt,

Well I have my concerns about your post... If your ISP blocks the windows
update site then your linux machine will not be able to get to it either
because it uses the same ISP as your Windows Machines. Now I have never
heard of an ISP blocking the windows update site so here are a couple of
suggestions. Check your firewalls on the Windows Computers that would be
more likely the culprit of blocking the windows update site. You may also be
having problems with a virus or spyware you can run a check at..

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Also download Ad-aware and spybot.. You can get these by searching for them
at..

http://www.download.com

Now there are many other steps to completely removing malware from your
machine but start here and I'm sure others like Malke can give you more
complete steps, actually Malke has some good in depth steps to removing
malware at her site..

Good Luck with your problems... Also if it is your ISP blocking windows
update(but I highly doubt it) then you may file a request with them to
unblock this site because it is a critical site to be able to access.

If you are not familiar with this page in MS - if you click on the column
headed 'Release Date' they will all show in descending order from today's
date - some show for 11 and some for 12 Sept.
Also, if its important to you and the way you download, you will not know in
what order the updates are offered on the WU site.
Some say you should always install in the order as listed - some say it
don't matter.
