I have two sections in my document and a table of contents.
I have set the header and footer of section two to be different from section
one.
I have set the starting page number for section two to 1

When I go to the table of contents and press {F9} to update, the document
"forgets" that I have asked the first page of section two to begin at 1. As a
result al page numbers are relative to the forst page of the document.

Any idead

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Sks=?=,

Could you describe the steps you used to change the starting page number for the
second section? Are page numbers displayed in the document (in the footers, for
example)? Do they display correctly before updating the TOC? And afterwards?

If the answer to the last two questions is Yes, and No, then chances are good
the that the section breaks in the document are damaged. Try copying the text
WITHOUT the section breaks and WITHOUT the last paragraph mark into a new
document. You'll have to insert new section breaks and recreate the
headers/footers. Is this more stable?

It's possible that the page break accidentally got inside the TOC field. It
is *extremely* easy for this to happen and almost impossible to correct it.
