Updating Messenger Contact Info

Hey all - long time no post.

I have a new cell phone number and want to update Messenger so that I can be
contacted by way of SMS when I am off line.

I re-ran the MSN Mobile thing and registered my new service provider and
phone number. I got the confirmation SMS and code and entered it back into
the MSN Mobile website.

Next I manually updated the contact numbers listed under Tools > MSN Mobile
Settings > My Mobile Number

Problem: My old cell # is still shown to my buddy list - its not been
updated ...What am I doing wrong??

Sometimes it takes awhile before it actually "updates" to everyone, it will change
eventually.;

So I've done it correctly??

I wondered if the delay had to do with me registering the numbers with
Windows Messenger and then re-registering with MSN Messenger.

How long is a while? I re-registered a week ago.

I'm not sure then, I'll have to check to see if there is something wrong or if it's delayed
tomorrow.

I encountered this problem also since MSN Messenger 6.0.0602...
This bug(?) was discovered by someone on 15th november 2003 (in the
Messenger Plus!-forums)): the phone numbers don't update anymore and
stay fixed at the value entered at that time...

You can edit away all you want in those fields, your contacts will still
see the old numbers...

This has happend (is happening) to many people I know...

I have changed it many months ago, still no "update"...
