Updating client records

We would like to allow our clients to view/update their individual records
on our web site.

We use ACT! on our local machines to handle scheduling and record creation
& maintenance.

In the past, we have merged client data to a plain text email which is sent
to the client for updates. It has been manual and is getting more time
consuming.

It seems a form on our web site in a password protected folder with an
access database would be a good start. The Access DBF could populate the
Form with the clients current info, and email a copy of changes so we can
update our "live" database.

Anyone have pearls of wisdom; good sites etc to aid the learning curve?

Or any thoughts on achieving our goal in a different method?

I would visit the site for act. they've probably got a "developer's area"
where there should be examples. I know it's this way with Peachtree and
QuickBooks.

If your hosted site is on a Windows Server is should be running ASP and support Database connections (access tables)
