updates

I have a new computer with Xp Home. When I go to the
Windows Update site. I let them scan my new computer to
see what updates I need. I go through the whole process
and download my updates but when it gets to the install
stage nothing happens? It just stops. I wait and wait but
nothing installs. PLEASE HELP! It's frustrating.
