Updates?

Is there a way to save the downloaded updates from MS so that if I
want to re-apply an update I don't have to go on the internet? Or do
the updates need internet access? I can see where I might want to do
that even though my ISP is down. In fact a list of the updates, by
name and purpose would be nice also.

Thanks

Once the updates are applied to the system you can't get them back, but you
can download the installation file for each and apply it manually. They
don't need an internet connection for the installation.

For new updates as they come out, don't use automatic updates. Go to the
windows update site, do a custom scan, then look at the details for each
update. There will be a reference to a KB article or security bulletin.
Follow the links to it and download the individual installation file.

You can also use these resources to see get previous updates.
