My operating partition is critically full from files/data
that results from installing XP updates, patches, etc.

Are there folder structures or files that can be deleted
after updates?

Are there download settings that will eliminate the
permanent creation of these folder structures or files in
the first place?

I just upgraded my parent's laptop from windows 98 to
windows xp home edition. Now they are almost out of disk
space. If I go into My Computer>>Properties>>Disk
Cleanup it shows 671Mb of windows 98/ME installation
files. Can't I delete these? It says I can free up that
amount of space if I do? Are these files needed at all
since this XP is an upgrade from windows 98?
