updater cannot not connect to internet (MS Antispyware)

when I run check for updates I get connection to internet
can not be found. Program was.working fine yesterday.

I have Counterspy, AVG Firewll, Secretmaker, Adware Plus
on computer. The files application rules in AVG, show the
updater is given permission to acess internet and yet it
still can not access it.

Any suggestions, can send more info when needed.

Ensure that Internet Explorer is working online, open IE, click File and
ensure that Work Offline is not checked. Also check if the Windows Firewall
is blocking permission if you are running Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

This is likely an interaction with Counterspy. Check their forums for more
information.

One fix is a newer beta version of their app, I believe. Another fix may be
to reinstall Microsoft Antispyware over itself.

I re-installed MS Antispyware, all is well again.

Great. At this point both programs are running some very similar code, at
least in portions. This will change as both progress--Microsoft with beta2,
and Sunbelt with their current beta version--not sure what stage it is in.
