I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 TI 4200 card and since using
Windows XP update feature to install DirectX 9.0b patch,
all of my 3D games run very slowly or crash. For most of
the games, they seem to freeze for 5-10 seconds at a
time, then display a quick burst of updates, then freeze
again. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Some video card manufacturers have updated drivers that are
specifically designed to work with DirectX 9.0. It's possible that
these drivers will benefit performance, quality, or stability of games
running DirectX 9.0. Please make sure you check with your video
card manufacturer to see if such drivers exist for your video card.

I have tried several different versions of the NVIDIA
drivers including the most recent available (44.03), but
they all fail in the same way. I have noticed on this
message board that many people are experiencing problems
with DirectX 9.0b. Is anyone from Microsoft watching
this board? Is there a new patch on the way, or a way to
revert to 9.0a (without system restore)?
