Stuck at definition 5733- removed/reinstalled several
times.Autoupdater is active and have tried repeatedly to
manually update.On reinstallation date of definitions is
current date and does not change.
 
Try uninstalling the program, delete the entire Microsoft
AntiSpyware folder from c:\program files, and delete
gcUncompress.dll from c:\windows\system32 (XP, will have
to search for it on Win 2000). Now reboot the system.
Install the program, and reboot once again.

Perhaps you might like to try this:

1. Uninstall MSAS
2. Manually delete the Microsoft Antispyware Folder.
3. Run Ccleaner (free from www.ccleaner.com)in both
windows and application mode and also the registry utility
(issues)that comes with it. It will ask you if you wish to
make a backup before you delete anything.
4. Install a fresh copy of MSAS.
