Update Software installation failure

While trying to install the up dated software from the
various sites, seems to be a compatibility problem.
Anyone found a solution to make the various hardware work
with the system.

I wonder if he is experiencing my dillema. I downloaded
the latest hotfix for XP a few days ago, and now my sound
is completely out. It doesn't look like I can back that
update out and reinstalling the sound drivers and
software doesn't help either. I have a Turtle Beach Santa
Cruz card.
