Using an update query, how do I update numbers like
V62.81 to V6281 (no decimal point); there are different
numbers for each record.

UPDATE tblDummy SET tblDummy.myvalue = "V6281"
WHERE (([tblDummy]![myvalue]="V62.81"));
 
One way is to set the update value of [fld] to be:

Left$([fld], Instr([fld], ".") - 1) & Right$([fld], Len([fld]) -
Instr([fld], "."))
