Picture Cooler is FREE, Neat Image isn't

They're both liteware IMO. However, from the Neat Image download page:

"The Demo edition of Neat Image is distributed as freeware for
non-commercial use."

also:

"Demo is a freeware edition of the software with slightly-limited
functionality"

As for Picture Cooler:

"DOWNLOAD_Picture Cooler as Setupfree Version 1.070-0 FREE VERSION only
JPG output and more restrictions"

and:

"DOWNLOAD_Picture Cooler as Setupcool Version 1.070-0 FULL VERSION no
new serial needed (if you have one)"

All of these downloads are setup executables, and I'm loath to try them
out by installing them.

To use the "Full" version of picturecooler you have to send
Ronnie Kroonenberg (the program author) a e-mail,
then he send you a serialnumber for free.
No serialnumber = a thin green line over the denoised image

You don't have to register or use a serialnumber
to use the "Free" version.

BTW.
Another free/liteware denoise program is
Noiseware Community Edition

Thanks for explaining this, CoMa. Just curious though, where did you get
this information? There doesn't seem to be a home page for the program.
Was it in the help file or in a readme?

Thanks. I downloaded it and might check it out when I find time.
Currently I still use Helicon, which is time-limited PROmotionware.
