Update Error number: 0x80244001

When trying to access Windows Update, I just started getting the following
error:

[Error number: 0x80244001]

How can I fix this?

Try this..
When searching for available updates on the Windows Update site, you see the
0x80244001 error

Problem description

This error may occur if the MSXML3.dll is missing or not properly
registered.

Applicable operating systems

· Windows XP

· Windows Server 2003



Resolutions

1. Register MSXML3.dll

1. Click Start.

2. Choose Run.

3. In the Run box, type regsvr32 MSXML3.dll.

4. Click OK.
