I keep getting a defunct email address showing up in the 'from field' of
email I send. I want to update my email address to my current one. Please
help.

How can I get the from field to auto fill in my email address? Yep, I have
the email address in my account setup etc. 2003. Ty in advance.

Are you talking about viewing the "from" field in a new message in Outlook?
Don't worry about that - you don't need it. As long as your default account
is set up with the right display name & email address, messages will go out
with it as the sender...

Actually if I don't fill this field in manually with each email, (I created a
contact with my own email address so I can fill it in by pulldown) my ISP
won't accept emails from me. What is interesting is that when I test
settings the test send messages work fine. I look at the 'from' field for
these test messages and it correctly fills in my email address. If I don't
type it in myelf, outlook does not correctly fill in the field. Was hoping
there was some way to get this automated. I have seen lots of posts witht he
same problem on these boards...peopel can receive but not send...maybe the
same workaround would work for them.

The From field in the Compose window is used for delegate mailboxes and
shouldn't affect your own From setting, which is deteremined with the
"E-mail Address" field of the account properties. See this with
Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select the account and click Change.
