i don't think it's a virus. it could be spyware, but i don't know.
too many programs start with windows? i'll check.
misconfiguration by user? what should i look at?
hardware? i don't think so, but hey, not impossible.....

i know. sorry. this is my first time/first day and i didn't know how to do
it. haven't you ever experienced a learning curve......?

oh yeah...i also tried to delete some of my mistakes after i learning what i
was doing? can you delete mistake postings?

i needed to redo a firewall for sure (my old isp made me change firewall
stuff a couple of years ago) and i've downloaded microsoft's spyware. it
appears the spyware is finding a ton of junk on my computer. i'm grateful to
you and appreciate your web page very much. once again, i apologize for
jumping into the performance area without doing my homework. i was just
getting a little frustrated with computer anything and really like driving
the car and not changing the oil (but i realize you have to).

now that i have downloaded onecare onto my computer, do i need to purchase
norton security anymore? my norton software is paid up until later this year.

(onecare made me uninstall norton before it would load). i'm a little
confused about what i need to do.

by the way, my computer desktop loaded this morning in about 20 seconds. it
had been taking MORE than a minute! i'm glad that it was stuff that i could
clean up and not the computer. great job.
