UP button opens new window

Recently when I use the "Up" button to navigate to a previous folder from
where I came, I am now getting a new window. How do I change it so I just
skip up to my previous folder view without opening a new window?

From any folder, click Tools, Folder Options, General Tab, under "Browse Folders", check the
box, "Open each folder in the same window", Apply, OK
