My son spent some time in Yahoo. Now the Internet
Explorer page has a new blue Yahoo Search toolbar which I
cannot seem to delete, or even hide, no matter what I try.
How can I get rid of it?
I think the same system is trying to change my home web
page from time to time. I reset it and try to freeze the
setup, but it still pops up from time to time.

Did you try to unclick yahoo toolbar under VIEW --->
TOOLBAR???? It should work if you wanna hide...and I think
you need to go to "Control Panel" ---> "Add/Remove" to
uninstall yahoo toolbar.

Thanks, but VIEW---TOOLBAR was the first thing I tried.
No matter what you click, it stays there. So I tried your
suggestion in Control Panel, which is unable to uninstall
the yahoo toolbar; I guess it's set up to protect itself
from automatic uninstall. I can't find the file that
controls it, so I can't directly delete it. I think I'll
sue Yahoo!

Don,
Thanks. The instructions look good but refer to clicking
an icon that is not there in Explorer 6. I have emailed
the Yahoo helpdesk; maybe they will have an answer.

You absoutly can uninstall it, after you open your IE,
check "Yahoo! Companion" under View --> Toolbar got a
click mark or not; if does, point the mouse to your Yahoo
toolbar icon and you'll see "toolbar settings", and there
got a option "uninstall"; if doesn't, on your Yahoo
Toobar, point the mouse to the 2nd icon from your left, it
should show "toolbar settings". Try is it work or not.
