Somewhere I've picked up a "critter" that plays an
unwanted and annoying horn sound when entering or exiting
certain websites. It occurs only when using IE and does
not happen on all sites. It appears to be targeted. Any
ideas on where I can find the source and how do I
eliminate it?

You will find the settings for you Internet Explorer sounds in the 'Sounds
and Multimedia Properties' control panel.

Select the Start\Settings\Control Panel\Sounds and Multimedia Properties
menu option.

Also in the Internet Options control panel on the Advanced tab there is a
setting to Play sounds in web pages. Since this sound does not play at every
site you visit it is most likely a sound programmed to play when you visit
that particular site. This setting will stop site sounds from being played.
