Unwanted search

I am currently running Windows XP SP1 with all current updates except for
SP2. When I am in Windows Explorer or my computer and I try to go deeper in
to the tree view past c:\ I get a new window but it is a search window. My
question is this a setting that I just don't know about, I highly dought it.
Or is their some type of reg setting I need to look at? I have ran the McAfee
with new virus definitions and it didn't find anything. Any ideas?
