I am working with a Workbook to do data analysis. The data which I am
to analyze is presented to me in another Workbook which has many named
ranges. My spreadsheet also has named ranges which are referenced in
my formulas. When maintaining my Workbook, I routinely copy data from
the "outside" Workbook, and then paste it into my "analysis" Workbook
via the clipboard, using PasteSpecial - Values. After I do this, the
list of named ranges in my Workbook include all the names from both my
"analysis" workbook and the "outside" Workbook. There are hundreds of
names, and many of the "outside" names are so similar to those on the
"analysis" Workbook that it becomes very difficult to maintain my
Workbook. I need some suggestions as to why these names are imported,
and how to prevent this from happening.
Many thanks, gnewbury
