First, my apologies for sending this to the 98 Newsgroup. I realized my error
and deleted the post.
I've just begun using XP. I find in the lower right corner an icon that is
crossed out with a red cross. It says that it is an Intel Pro 100 VE Net LAN
Adapter and that the Network Cable is "unplugged."
There are two applications in Add/Remove Programs. One is Intel PRO Set (17.93
MB) and the other is Intel PRO Network Adapters and Drivers (2.90 MB).
I am the only user of this computer. I'm not on a local area network and never
intend to be.
I am able to use AOL successfully. I'm using it now. Is there any reason that I
should not just "uninstall" these applications?
