Unwanted 'Links' folder

When I startup IE6 there is an empty 'Links' folder in Favorites.
When I delete it, reboot, and open IE again, the folder returns.

Is there a way I can permanently remove and stop the 'Links' folder from
automatically installing? Is it a Registry setting?
I'm running IE6.0 128 bit with SP1 on a PII-266 with Win98SE.

If you don't want to see it, then just set the attributes of the Links
folder to Hidden.
