I have an unwanted file in all of my 'right click' folder
menus that I think was put there when I had a systen
crash or perhaps by a virus. Ie, when I right click on my
recycle bin there is an extra file which is unattached to
any other folder. How do you open up this general folder
so I can delete this crap unattached file.

I would try booting in safe mode, then deleting the file
at a command prompt; assuming you are familiar with DOS,
of course.

Hi,

It depends on where in the right click menu.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\OpenWithList
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
