Unwanted error message when opening Outlook 2003

I get the following message:
"The add-in "c\progra~1\mcafee.com\v so\outscan.dll"
could not be installed or loaded. This problem may be
resolved by using Detect and Repair on the Help Menu."

I have run "Detect and Reapir" twice with no results.

This is a brand new Dell 8400 and come with McAfee
installed. Through the "Add/Remove" Program I uninstalled
McAfee and downloaded Trend Micro. Then the error message
appeared when I opened MS Office/Outlook and does so
every time it is opened.

How do I correct the problem?

Hi John,

It sounds like an email scanning add-in was not removed when you uninstalled
McAfee. Open Outlook and go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options >
Add-in Manager. See if you can locate the reference to the outscan add-in
and, if so, uncheck it. Exit and then restart Outlook.
