I recently posted a question for help at the Messenger
newsgroup board and since then I have been receiving 50+
emails a day with some variation of Microsoft as the
sender. I'm pretty sure these are not legitimate emails
and haven't opened any of them. Each is over 125k. How do
I stop this? Thanks for any help.

Look up SPAM using Google.
Get more specific even, SPAM killer or SPAM elimination.

You can stopp future occurences by using a fake or altered e-mail
address when posting to newsgroups or filling out webpages. For instance,
you can change your e-mail address to < (e-mail address removed)
. A live person can see that part of your e-mail address has been
alterd. but, a harvesting program can't and will send to an invalid
address.

Thanks. As you can tell I'm pretty computer illiterate
and it didn't even occur to me to use an alias for this
kind of thing. I guess it's time to change my email
address...I HATE SPAM!!! Except the kind that comes in a
can :)
