Whenever I drag a cell down for Auto-Fill, I get an Auto-Fill options box.
How do I get rid of this unwanted feature? Excel 2003. TIA, James

Turn drag-and-drop editing on or off

By default, drag-and-drop editing is turned on so you can drag the mouse
to move and copy cells. This option can be turned off.

On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Edit tab, do one of the following:
To turn off drag-and-drop editing, clear the Allow cell drag and drop
check box.
To turn on drag-and-drop editing, select the Allow cell drag and drop
check box.
Tip To avoid replacing existing data in other cells when you drag
cells, make sure that the Alert before overwriting cells check box is
selected

Bob, thanks for your reply. However, your suggestion disables auto-fill
entirely. Gord's suggestion just gets rid of the options box. Thank you,
Gord. James

Sorry my answer wasn't the one you asked for, glad you got the option
configuration desired.

I have a 2 cells merged, the data in the cells are always 1 of three choices ( 2-1/2, 3-1/2, 4-1/2) If I select my choice of the three and try to extend it to the next cell it automatically raises it by 1 with each cell added. For example:
cell A:1 = 2-1/2 when I drag that the next cell
cell B:1 = 3-1/2 then
cell C:1 = 4-1/2 then
cell D:1 = 4-1/2 etc.
I don't have this problem when cells are not merged, is there an alternate way of merging the cells so this does not occur?
Thanks in advance.
