When I enter any value to a cell and hit the right arrow key, a 'b' is
placed at the end of the value and the excel window is minimized.
Does anyone know what could cause this?

Does this happen with every cell? With every sheet? With every file? HTH

When I open a new spreadsheet file and all work sheets in that file.
Some blank cells all I have to do is right arrow and a 'b' will show
and the window will minimize.
In other cells, 'n/' will show with a blank box below the cell when I
right arrow.
My kid was playing with my keyboard before this happened, this could
be part of the problem.

I also notice that hitting the right arrow key inserts a 'b' or an
'n/' when using other programs also.

in windows control panel you should delete all language settings except
the setting you're using.

by default a windows installation configures different langage and
keyboard settings.

when you use short cut keys (ctrl + p or alt + F1) the keyboard settings
tend to change (don't ask me why, ask Microshit), which could lead to
problems as you described .

So, to prevend this from happening, investigate your language settings
in the control panel as thoroughly as can be.

this should save a lot of trouble.

good luck,
