Freeserve may no longer be working:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeserve

That error message looks like it's from the Windows Mail program, not
from Outlook. Therefore, checking in Outlook isn't likely to help.

If it's in Windows Mail: Does your connection to that server cross over
from one internet provider's equipment to another's before it reaches
the server? If so, such connections to port 25 are often blocked to
cause problems for spammers.

Check your Outgoing Mail (stmp) port number. You should go to Freeserver to
find out what it should be, but the odds are that it's not Port 25.

Clinton, check if your computer is set to the correct date and time.
Either it's set about 2 days off, or your newsgroup server's path
to this part of the world takes about 2 days to pass along your
messages.

AFAIK, the Date header is always inserted by the client program, so
Clinton's computer time is definitely slow by two days.
