unreadable .cab on cd !

Hello,
I am running XP Home.

Since several days, I can not read *.cab on any CD.

I need it to install new software, or even to update office XP install.

Virus ?
unknown XP setting ?

Anybody could help me on this ?

See if this helps: Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 cabview.dll

/top10faqs.htm
