Does anybody know of a freeware program to unprotect word documents where
the passwords have been forgotten or never known? I'm using some forms that
I'd like to customize, but nobody knows the passwords.

Thanks,

Sounds like they're protected for FORMS then? Simple.
Open a new, blank document. Hit Insert-File and insert the password-protected form file.
Protection all gone.

Hope this helps!

You don't need the password for forms. Open a new document and insert the
form document. The protection will be removed.

Hi Jim

A Google search for "word password cracker free" turns up about 175000
hits. My advice: be very careful... it's impossible to know how much
trust to place in someone who cracks passwords for a living.
