Massimiliano,
- why I cannot disable some components like (e.g.TCP/IP) when I have
disabled the network card and components?
You can disable any component in the configuration but Dependency Checker may bring it back (as another node though).
Did you turn off the Auto-Resolve dependencies option in TD?
What TCP/IP component specifically you are talking about and what exactly the error or behaviour you see when you are trying to
disable it?
Or (just a thought) are you asking why TCP/IP components are still brought in to the Configuration even if you disabled the network
adapter components and etc.? This probably means you have some other components in the Configuration that require the TCP/IP stack.
If you turn off the Auto-Resolve dependencies, you will be able to see what components require it (in the dependency checker error
log or Tasks).
Or you can use ConfigurationExplorer tool component from
www.xpefiles.com to explore your Configuration component dependencies.
sions are not affected so much removing components? (I
have removed audio, network, RPC, telephony ...)
This is a bit wierd question. For the primitive components (not marco ones) you can see their size.
Again, did you turn off the Auto-Resolve dependencies option?
To view the size of an individual component, select the component in the configuration. The compressed and uncompressed component
sizes are displayed in the component details pane (on the right side in TD).
With SP1 Tools you can also easy estimate the footprint increase of adding a component.
