Has anyone faced this error message with XP home edition
("Unmountable_Boot_Volume)? I have followed the MS fix it
procedures (downloaded XP Recovery software and ran
chkdsk /r), but my locked computer cannot find the
Autochk.exe file. Unfortunately, since its in a lock down
mode, I cannot search for the file nor will the recovery
software allow me to search for it (i.e., all the software
came pre-installed). Also, Fixboot does nothing for the
situation!!
Needless to say, I am ticked because MS had the nerve to
build in this shutdown mode purposely, but I cannot get
the system to reboot and HP states its a MS problem.
