I created the self booting CD and everything went smoothly until I typed
"R"
on the Welcome to Setup screen to get to the recovery console. A screen
came
up with the following text:
Windows XP Home Edition Setup
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to
your
computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct.
This
may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.
Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.
I believe I have Windows XP Professional Edition...not sure if that
matters.
Can you recommend anything else based on this new error message I'm
getting?

computer manufacturer. You will need it eventually.
Hi! I'm having the same ubv problem. When I put my Win XP Pro. disk in to
go
to the Recovery Console, I get this warning: "Setup cannot continue
because
the version of Windows on your computer is newer than the version on the
CD.
" This is the Win XP the store that sold me the computer gave me (though I
upgraded to Service Pack 2) on their advice soon after getting it. Is
there
a download or patch I need to be able to access the Recovery Console?
Thanks!
