unmatched query data

I am having a bit of difficulty...

I have two tables (one linked from another DB) Main with emp number and
other with empl number...I did a umatched query. That is to say, any emp
numb in Main not in matching emp number in the other and it did not work. Is
there any criteria that may be needed to narrow down the list. RIght now it
is bringing all the emp num in main and I know that data is in the second
table that matches main.

HelP!
 
Have you tried performing the unmatched query in the other direction...

It is difficult to say if there is additional data that may narrow down your
list without knowing more about your tables.
