unlinking formulas from cells

I have used a vlookup formula go get id numbers in a column. Now that i have
the ID numbers, i want to keep the numbers and lose the formulas. how do i do
that?

Paste special|values|OK

Click on Edit,
Click on Links,
Highligt the links you want to break,
Press Break Links
Done.
