Is there any way to create a shortcut key that would enter out preset keys;
like if I was doing a repetitive task, such as typing "down, up, enter" etc.
over and over again, I could assign those keys to say "Ctrl+Shift+H" (just an
example). Sorry if I'm not explaining it well enough, bub if anyone
understands what I just said, please help.

Thanks, Emmet

Hi Fur:

There are certainly ways to do this and they are real time-savers. What
program are you doing these repetitive tasks in?

Nothing in paticular, I just always find myself in situations where it would
save some serious time! Do you know of any way to do this?

Many applications will have their own scheme for doing this and that is where
I would suggest you look for the answer-- within the documentation of each
particular application in which you perform these repetitive tasks. In a
particular application (like MS Word for example) do a Help Search for
"keyboard macro".

Thanks, I'll give it a go!

Another possibility is to pursue some software for providing macros. I've
used Macro Express by Insight Software Solutions for a number of years and
have several macros to do exactly what you're thinking of. You can find it
here: www.wintools.com

You could write a VBscript that enters the keystrokes you require and then
create a shortcut to that script to run it anytime you require.
