Unknown Task in Task Scheduler

I've tried the HP Hardware newsgroup and gotten no help, so I'll try here.
I have a Hewlett-Packard printer (PSC 2110) and it put a task in the Task
Scheduler. It is scheduled to run "daily."
It's called FRU Task, and I find nothing in the documentation to tell me what
this is--or how important it is that it run every day. (If the "U" stand for
"update," it seems rather too frequent, and wouldn't the computer have to be
connected to the Internet for that to happen?)
Someone here might know, or make an astute guess.

If you look at the task properties, what is the executable that it is
running? Near as I can tell, FRU simply stands for Field Replaceable
Unit. HP software often puts a reminder task on your system that executes
remind32.exe in the FRU folder under the HP folder in Program Files. I
believe this is a registration reminder application. If you have already
registered, or have no intention of registering, it is OK to disable.

Please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup only.

The executable is: hpqfrucl.exe
It's in the Folder HP | Digital Imaging | Bin
Under Properties it is called FRU-Client (MFC Application)
Any guesses?
