UNknown Folder

Hi Guys
What is this folder, it sets in my C: , (352b81d1c4bf3810e28482d9979) i
think it belongs to SP2 , If so do
i have to leave it there or can i delete it ?
I tried to delete it and cannot. Says acess denied. If i can delete it how
do i go about it? (maybe safe Mode?)

Hi Carl, this lists where SP2 installs and how to remove the uninstall information.

I included the link because it makes reference to:
"Check that the installations temporary folder did get properly removed - it will be
on the drive where you downloaded the setup files, so probably C: and have a long
name of random letters. If it is still around, delete it. And burn the downloaded
file to a CD so as to have it if you ever need to reinstall. "

If it is the folder that the article relates to, try safe mode.

I don't use WinXP Pro but it sounds like a permission thing
Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View/Unmark "Use Simple File Sharing". Right
click the folder/file in question/Properties/Security/Advanced/Owner/Set Permissions

By the way the folder (352b81d1c4bf3810e28482d9979) has another folder in it
called update , Explorer says this update folder is empty.Here is the
message i get when i try to delete it. (screen shot).
I tried to delete it from another partion but no go, same message.
I was able to move the folder from under C: to windows.(cut & paste).
I have XPPROSP2 running good for 2 weeks now so i deleted the uninstall file
and removed it from add remove programs.
Have had no problems with SP2

Hi Guys
Finally got it deleted, Had to play around in the security settings there.
After i got the right permissions the suposedly empty folder had a update
install icon in it. Wouldn't let me open it though.But i could delete it ,
so idid ,and then the deleted the folder.
Don't know what it was ,things seem to be ok yet,fingers still crosed. ha ha
