Unknown Files?

Hi All,
When I open Windows Explorer and go to the windows folder I see a long list
of folders like ($NlUninstallkB817778$). There is about 50 of these folders
in the windows file that are a light blue in color. When I click on one of
the folders other folders comes up called (Spuninst).
Some of these folders date back to 2003 and my question is can I just delete
some of the older ones?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I thought they might be files put there buy the
restore program.
