Using Win XP Home SP1.

I have the following "unknown" executables on my system:

c:\holi28678562.exe
c:\124365.exe
c:\Documents and Settings\Geoff\Application Data\nocs.exe

I have done a Google search that has not turned up any results for these at
all!

Please help. Thanks

Moir,

Malware executable names usually have random characters in them. First, inspect the startup applications to see if there is anything suspicious. (Download Autoruns from sysinternals.com). In tandem, run these malware cleaners:

1. Lavasoft Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com
2. SpyBot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org
3. CWShredder 2.0 - http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html

Update 1 & 2 before running a scan.

Clean-up Windows Startup: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/startup.htm. Also run a full system virus scan with fully updated definitions.

Often a word document will have a 'macro' embedded into the template file.
This file is named Normal.dot, and can have settings for macros adjusted in
the Options.
