I downloaded an upgrade from Hewlett Packard for my scanner. All the files
in that folder are now on my desktop. The entire destktop is full. I don't
know what I did but. now I can't get rid of all these files. I went into
msconfig and tried undhchecking al HP stuff and that didn't help. I can
delete each one of them into the recycle bin but, when I restart my computer
all the files are back on my desktop.
Does anyone know how I can get rid of these files premanently

Thanks.

Peter

Next time create a download folder on C: Then when you click on the
file, download it to that folder. Then, when you unpack it, unpack it to
that folder or even another new folder you created for the chore.

For example, I have an "a" folder on my hard drive, and also an "aa" and
an "aaa". This way it shows up first and fast to access. I download to
"a", then unzip, if required to "aa". Then I run the install. I then
archive/move the orginal file, if needed, to a separate utils folder and
delete the contents of "aa".

Try here, Peter:
